Eyeliner Mistakes

| |

The perfect eyeliner doesn’t want to work and looks like a blurred line? Then you are probably making at least one of these eyeliner mistakes.

1. The perfect line

When applying an eyeliner , most are based on their natural eye shape. It is not crucial to emphasize the shape of the eyes, but to find out what suits you best.

For example, if your eyelids are hanging down a little, it is disadvantageous if the ends of the eyeliner also slope down. It is better to let the eyeliner line run out a little longer and at a 45-degree angle upwards.

2. The perfect consistency

A solid wax or a liquid gel? Long or short tip? Anyone who has found the right eyeliner will find it much easier to apply later.

Beginners should start with a long-tip waterproof gel pen because it is easier to use and lasts a long time. Advanced users switch to soft, liquid eyeliner. These blur faster and must therefore be applied with more caution.

A dramatic smokey eyes look is best linked with a black eye pencil.

3. Waterproof or not?

Because the dark line usually does not succeed the first time, many use a water-soluble eyeliner to make it easier to remove. A big eyeliner mistakes!

Because no matter if you are surprised by spontaneous rain showers, if you want to catch an eyelash quickly or if it is particularly warm in summer – only waterproof eyeliner lasts all day and prevents panda eyes.

4. The perfect base

Not only waterproof eyeliner, but also powder and eyeshadow base prevent the look from blurring. Before you want to draw the eyeliner, it is best to put a base, like the one used for eyeshadow, on the eyelid. Alternatively, you can wet the eyelid with a compact powder.

5. The perfect job

One of the biggest mistakes in eyeliner painting is not putting the eyeliner close enough to the lash line. The end result is best when the color is applied almost in the eyelash spaces.

Tip: It is best to use a brush to blur the color in the gaps.

6. The perfect swing

With beauty bloggers it always looks so simple: the eyeliner is attached to the lash line and the perfect eyeliner is created with a quick pull.

In reality you have to be a little more patient and prefer to put a lot of small lines that you connect. This minimizes errors that are usually difficult to correct.

7. Up, down, both?

We also know this from YouTube tutorials: an eyeliner line is also applied to the lower lash line. This makes the eyes optically smaller and should therefore only be used for advanced looks. Then, of course, not in dark colors, but rather in a lighter shade that makes the eyes look more awake and radiant.
